If you’re considering purchasing an equestrian property, there are four key things you’ll need to take into consideration when you do so:
1. Find a Realtor who is knowledgeable about the wants and needs of horses. They will also need to be aware of any potential zoning limitations that might come into play.
2. Consider your needs and the needs of your horses. How many horses do you have or plan to have? Will you board horses? What about teaching riding lessons? You should keep all of these questions in mind before you proceed.
3. Consider any future expansions you may want to add. If there is a possibility you’ll want to build a riding arena on your property, you’ll need to take the space this will require into account before choosing a place to call home.
4. Think about the soil, the drainage system, available parking, and water sources. There are a number of practicalities you’ll need to have at the top of your mind as you search for an equestrian property.
